Welcome to the DAHS website!

Dexter Area Historical Museum

Located in the Village of Dexter, Michigan, the Dexter Area Historical Museum serves as western Washtenaw County's link with history. The museum is housed in the former St. Andrew's United Church of Christ, built in 1883. The building was moved one block to the corner of Inverness and Fourth streets, to allow the construction of the current St. Andrew's. The museum contains a large display area, a genealogical library, a local history library, and the Corner Gift Shop.

DAHS Welcomes the Fall 2015

The fall Antiques Appraisal Day will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the Dexter Area Museum. Sponsored by the Dexter Heritage Guild, the appraisals will be conducted by the DuMouchelles Art Gallery from Detroit. The DuMouchelles certified appraisers, knowledgeable in many categories, will give a verbal appraisal during a 15-minute appointment for 1-3 items with a fee of $7.00 per item. Their expertise embraces  paintings, carvings, watches, Chinese artwork, dolls, collectables, china, firearms, swords, old toys, small pieces of furniture, and more. Proceeds benefit the preservation and operation of the Museum.
To request an appointment or ask questions, call Sue at 734-424-9998. On the morning of October 10th, please call the Museum at 734-426-2519 for appointment information.
